Rape has been an issue on college campuses (and elsewhere, for that matter) around the nation since date-rape became an issue in the 80s, and chances are it will remain so for some time. This article, published in a 2005 issue of the Cipher, is Beckel’s balanced critique of the persistent problem and CC’s evolving regulations on what constitutes “rape.” In light of the recurring cases of rape on this campus each year, the call of this article for conscientious action from all members of the community serves as a reminder that this problem belongs to all of us and that we have a responsibility to put an end to it. — JK
